Overthinking is not that overrated !!!

Soooo, this story is a little different from the others …
Is about overthinking…

The human being, by nature, tends to complicate everything in life, both personally and professionally.

It’s in our DNA !!!

We think too much, about what we are going to do, how we are going to do it, when we are going to do it … We make plans, and as we think about them, they become more complex, time consuming, as a result, we become unmotivated, without the strength to continue planning because we already know that we are going to complicate and it is not even worth thinking about, and inevitably we will give up on that idea we had.

Of course, everything depends what kind of person we are, some complicate more than others, it also depends on the type of idea you have, for example, if you went to buy a ream of paper, will we think too much and in the end we will not buy the ream? Or do we just buy on impulse right away? What if it’s a house? or even have a child?

There are several variables that might influence our overthinking: money, emotions, but mainly, in my opinion, the fear of failure.

Then we have the opposite of overthinking: the impulse, do not think, act quickly, without plans, without strategy, without research, ZÁS.

In the end, we have the same result that we had when we thought too much, it was not well accepted, or the result were not the one we waited, or simply, because we wanted it and that was it, but there is a big difference, there was an ACTION, we acted !!! We learned with action, we learned that results were not what we expected, and when we learned, we thought and analyzed, and finally, we came to a conclusion.

This type of learning will never happen if we never act, if we think too much.

I’m very creative, I’m very overthinking in many things, too many things, when I have an idea for an APP, I think too much about the features, and more features, like monetizing the APP and so many other things, and then at the end, it doesn’t even come out of the notebook, because I always come to the conclusion that it is not worth the effort, or that no one will use it or even put defects and give destructive feedback, which makes me continue to overthink and demotivate.

How can I reverse this bad current?

Easy, just stop overthinking and be a doer … Easy isn’t it? Not really, once again, it’s in our DNA to complicate, but overthinking can be worked on, as fear can be overcome, we will simply act, thinking on a very small scale, on a very basic form of the idea, on a very small size, to learn from the result, and thus evolve into something more robust, more solid.

A good tip a friend gave me is to limit the brainstorming time, that is, have 1 hour to think about the idea, be as objective as possible and when that hour is over, do not think anymore and start building.

If you have any suggestions for reversing the overthinking, I would like to “hear” it.
